Dr. Karen Nyambura Nyangara has a broad background in education and gender, with extensive training and expertise in research and evaluation. Her research focuses on how organizations can become more inclusive and how specific gender-focused interventions can improve policy and practice. As PI or co-investigator on several funded grants, she has developed training manuals and curriculum, trained service providers, and laid the groundwork for policy and policy applications both at institutional and community settings. In addition, she has successfully worked with students and staff to leverage adding peer counselors and public forums to improve referral and interventions for sexual misconduct and harassment. Her experience in coordinating teams and working with diverse expertise has given her an awareness of the critical need to adhere to timelines, plans, and budgets and to ensure that communication channels remain open and accommodating of divergent views.
