Tania de Villiers is a graduate of the Division of Nursing and Midwifery, in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She completed her undergraduate degree (BSc Nursing), Masters (MSc Nursing) and PhD in this division, where she is currently working as a Senior Lecturer. Her research focus is on primary prevention interventions of sexual violence and intersections with mental health. Her work is primarily (but not exclusively) with young men in university settings. She has been involved in various research projects related to Gender-Based violence, specifically in relation to primary prevention. She has published in international peer-reviewed journals and is making an ongoing contribution towards the body of science related to prevention interventions.  She developed the Men with Conscience (MwC) intervention (see de Villiers, Duma and Abrahams, 2021). Her most recent work is a pilot project to test the MwC intervention in a pilot RCT at two Universities in the Western Cape.
